At an event held in Óstán na Páirce, An Spidéal today (7 May 2009) Máirtín Ó Conghaile, Regional Manager, Údarás na Gaeltachta presented prizes to the winners of the Enterprise Competition for Gaeltacht Second Level Schools – Western region.
Winners were as follows:
1st Place: Coláiste Chroí Mhuire, An Spidéal
Project: Cártaí Chonamara Teo (Cards for Occasions)
2nd Place: Coláiste Chroí Mhuire, An Spidéal
Project: Mé, Tú, Sé, Sí Teo (A Book for Children)
3rd Place: Coláiste Cholmcille, Indreabhán
Project: Míle Mála Teo (Gift Bags)
This is an enterprise competition aimed at second level Gaeltacht schools with the objective of encouraging a spirit of enterprise amongst students.
In order to participate each group has to provide a business plan, set up and operate a business, write a report on the fictitious business and participate in the exhibition.
