At its meeting in Na Forbacha, Co. Galway today (29 January), the Board of Údarás na Gaeltachta approved a capital provision for necessary refurbishment works to be carried out on the building in which Coláiste Lurgan Teo is located.
An tÚdarás recognises the importance of the Irish college to the local economy and to the Irish language in general and has approved funding so that necessary works will be carried out to ensure that the college can operate as usual this summer. We also acknowledge that a longer term solution is required to ensure that the building meets the needs of Coláiste Lurgan and the local community in the future and discussions will take place with the relevant stakeholders in order to achieve this.
