A meeting of the Board of Údarás na Gaeltachta was held in the Enterprise Centre on Árainn Mhór last Friday (25 July 2008).
The following projects were approved for assistance:
The restoration of office space on the Gaoth Dobhair Business Park, Co. Donegal
A capital provision of €185,000 was approved for the restoration and development of the former MDR factory on the Gaoth Dobhair Business Park.
Comharchumann Sliogéisc Chonamara Teo, Cill Chiaráin, Co. Galway
A support package was approved for Comharchumann Sliogéisc Chonamara to assist the company in promoting it’s development programme and activities.
Forbairt na Dromoda Teo, Cillín Liath, Co. Kerry
A capital grant was approved for Forbairt na Dromoda Teo to assist the company in purchasing equipment for courses commencing in Ionad na Dromoda in September of this year.
The Board of Údarás met with delegations from Comharchumann Oileán Árainn Mhór and Comharchumann Forbartha agus Fostaíochta Árainn Mhór. A delegation of island fishermen made a submission to the Board regarding their current situation. The Board visited a number of projects on the island.
