An tÚdarás facilitates the development and provision of community-based language learning initiatives for all levels of competency.
An tÚdarás provides a range of supports for the provision of Irish language classes and courses. Assistance is also provide for classes that are taught through the medium of Irish.
These programmes seek to address the continued demand for Irish language classes in the Gaeltacht.
Gaeilge 2010
An innovative package of additional support measures, Gaeilge 2010, has been launched recently by Údarás na Gaeltachta. This programme is being rolled–out throughout the Gaeltacht. The first phase of these language initiatives includes the development of new language courses for all levels of competency, and the establishment of an initial 30 Irish Language learning and activity centres in partnership with the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
