All business proposals are assessed on an individual basis. Factors such as geographical location, type of business, potential employment level, and skills level of employees are all taken into consideration as part of the assessment.

 

All new business proposals must demonstrate their viability, funding, market potential, and must show that the necessary management and technical expertise is available to establish the new industry or service on a stable foundation.

 

Applications for all grants must be made and approval must be obtained in writing from Údarás na Gaeltachta before starting the relevant project (or any part of it) for which a grant may be requested. All Údarás na Gaeltachta supported businesses must agree to promote and develop the use of Irish in their activities. An tÚdarás recognises that these companies have a critical role to play in maintaining and holstering Irish as the language of the workforce and the community.
