Criteria and eligibility
Here you will find information on how to qualify for financial assistance from Údarás na Gaeltachta.

Údarás na Gaeltachta provides financial incentives to a wide range of business for the purposes of creating employment and providing services to the Gaeltacht community.

Funding eligibility and amounts will depend on the type of business proposed, geographical location, skills level required, and the potential employment level of the project.

All business proposals are assessed on an individual basis. Business proposals must demonstrate their viability, funding, market potential, and must show that the necessary management and technical expertise is available to establish the new industry or service on a stable foundation.

Applications
Applications for all grants must be made and approval must be obtained in writing from Údarás na Gaeltachta before starting the relevant project (or any part of it) for which a grant may be requested. A detailed business plan must be submitted for assessment.

The decision lies with an tÚdarás as to whether grant aid is approved to a particular project or not. The level of grant aid available for projects is governed by European Union state aid guidelines.
All Údarás na Gaeltachta supported businesses must agree to promote and develop the use of Irish in their activities. An tÚdarás recognises that these companies have a critical role to play in maintaining and holstering Irish as the language of the workforce and the community.

An tÚdarás provides practical support and advisory services as a support mechanism for in-company language plans.
