Expressions of Interest

Údarás na Gaeltachta is seeking Expressions of Interest for the former Coláiste Íosagáin in Baile Bhúirne, County Cork from parties interested in acquiring the premises for business purposes.

The buildings are mainly 2&3 storey and the accommodation comprises a mix of former classrooms, kitchen/dining area, showers/lockers, toilets and service areas on ground floor, with sleeping accommodation on the upper floors. There is also a chapel and hall/theatre area and to the rear there are former handball alleys as well as a gym/sports hall.

The buildings are quite well maintained and presented externally, however they are in poor condition internally and require complete refurbishment and renovation throughout.

The grounds are generally well maintained, with lawns and mature vegetation in the gardens to the front and land to either side providing scope for future expansion, subject to planning permission.

The property occupies a high profile position on the northern side of the busy N22 (Cork-Killarney road), on the banks of the river Bohill.

This presents a rare opportunity to acquire a historic landmark property in scenic west Cork, offering exciting potential for a variety of uses including educational, hotel/leisure, cultural centre, training centre, retreat centre, etc. subject to refurbishment and/or redevelopment and subject to planning permission. Other uses such as residential and healthcare could also offer some potential in the future.

Interested parties are invited to submit their Expression of Interest no later than 5pm on Friday the 25th of January 2013.

Further details including Expression of Interest forms are available from the selling agents GVA Donal O Buachalla upon request.
