Údarás na Gaeltachta uses social media to distribute information regarding its policies, activities and core initiatives, to highlight new developments being undertaken by its client companies throughout the Gaeltacht; to openly communicate with the Gaeltacht community and Údarás stakeholders and create a more transparent organisation. Social media is an integral element of Údarás na Gaeltachta’s corporate communications strategy. It allows us to engage with key stakeholders and reach a wide audience across all relevant areas and sectors.

Údarás expect commentary to follow the rules of polite discourse. We will remove any comments/posts/tweets that include inappropriate language and/or libellous, confidential, untrue, sensitive or personal information etc.
To protect your privacy, please do not post phone numbers, email addresses or private information in the body of your post/comment/tweet.

We will remove any postings that are off-topic or not relevant to Údarás na Gaeltachta’s function.
We reserve the right to edit or delete spam comments or comments/posts that include terms that may be offensive to others, or that explicitly promote a product or service or are clearly an affiliate link for the person posting

Our goal is to share news and information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made.

Specifically we do not tolerate the following and the right is reserved to delete comments/posts/tweets if they are considered to include:

  • Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity in the post or in the name of the account posting the comment;
  • Name calling, Bullying, Harassment and/or personal attacks;
  • Abusive or threatening in nature or using offensive, insulting or vulgar language;
  • Comments including hate speech or racist remarks;
  • Unrelated to the post, un-constructive, untrue or are disruptive;
  • Comments that are posted multiple times on posts;
  • Trolling or deliberate disruption of discussion;
  • Nudity in profile pictures;

Údarás has the right to retain copies of comments or messages which demonstrate misuse of these pages.

Please note that comments made by contributors during live streaming images do not necessarily represent the views of Údarás na Gaeltachta. Please also note that comments made on live video are not able to be moderated in real time, so we will endeavour to review all comments made after the live stream has finished and may be deleted at that time.
