Rith 2014 now in planning stages

The route for Rith 2014 is currently being planned and the Rith 2014 committee are seeking input from the communities that would like to see Rith 2014 come to their area.

Rith 2014 is a national festival which will take place in March 2014 as one of the main events of Seachtain na Gaeilge, building on the success of Rith 2010 and Rith 2012 when 35,000 people participated in the relay run around Ireland. Thousands of people will take part again in 2014, with a baton being passed from group to group every kilometre. Each kilometre will be sponsored by individuals, community groups and businesses. The money raised, Ciste Rith, will go towards groups throughout the country promoting and encouraging the use of Irish locally.

Representatives of Rith 2014 are available to attend local meetings across the country to explain the challenge and how people can participate in it.
